U.S. Coast Guard Station Port Canaveral and Waterfront
Wiley|Wilson was the Designer of Record (DOR) for this design/build project with the Whiting-Turner Company. The project consisted of constructing new facilities and
waterfront improvements to the U.S. Coast Guard Station at Port Canaveral, Florida. The project consolidated services and capabilities from existing deteriorated and storm-damaged buildings into a single, modern USCG facility.
The project scope included design and construction of a new, 2-story Multi-Mission Building (MMB), new one-story Exchange Building, a new concrete pier, and repair of the existing bulkhead. After construction of the new facilities is complete, the existing buildings will be demolished (Main Station Mission Building, MSD building, STS building, CGX building and engineering/storage building). Project construction is phased so that the Station always remain operational. The new buildings elevated are above
the coastal-zone flood level and are designed to meet all applicable current building codes and standards. The facility is designed to provide resilient, 24/7 operational capabilities under hurricane wind and storm surge conditions.
