B404 Dining Facility Modernization

Design-Build Renovation performed under the USACE Baltimore MATOC IDIQ with Grunley Construction. The existing Building 404 Dining Facility (DFAC) was a single story,
36,000 SF stand-alone building at Joint Base Myer-Henderson Hall in Arlington, VA. The DFAC is the only Permanent Party Enlisted Personnel Dining Facility serving the overall Ft. Myer, Ft. McNair, Arlington National Cemetery and the Pentagon region. The project site is located near to Spates Hall, within the view of the Fort Myer Historic District and Arlington National Cemetery.

The project transformed the outdated Building 404 into a premiere dining facility and administrative space to serve as a medium size (800PP) dining facility with 352 minimum
patron seating capacity, and a culinary training center. The new DFAC facility includes classrooms and training kitchens for the Master Enlisted Aide Training (MEAT) Program. The training lab is visible from the servery areas to allow patrons to observe the program events. Additional renovated space was reconfigured for the Soldiers for Life Transition Assistance Program (SLF-TAP) which includes a reception area, computer lab, classrooms, meeting spaces, and private offices for counselors. Finally, the United States Army Band (TUSAB) will utilize space in the facility for high density instrument and uniform storage along with fitting rooms and open office spaces.
