Electrical Distribution Commissioning Services
North Carolina State University has spent the past few years updating its electrical distribution system on Central Campus as part of a major infrastructure effort. What began as a smaller two-phase upgrade expanded into a multi-million-dollar initiative to transform the campus’s 12 kV electrical network.
Wiley|Wilson’s contribution to this complex effort focused on providing commissioning support to ensure new systems met specified performance standards. Our work included developing the commissioning plan, preparing detailed checklists and test procedures, and confirming all requirements were met. We also led a virtual bench test for the self-healing loop automation controller and checked that the automated distribution switchgear worked properly. These activities helped to ensure that the installed equipment and related systems performed as intended.
Our successful performance on this project was a key factor in NC State’s decision to select us as the commissioning agent for the Centennial Substation project — a testament to the trust clients have in our ability to deliver high-quality services in support of complex power system initiatives.
