Wiley|Wilson Employee-Owners Give Back During the Holiday Season
Employee-owners from all four Wiley|Wilson offices (Alexandria, Lynchburg, and Richmond, VA; and Atlanta, GA) participated in a variety of charitable activities this holiday season, helping those in need and collecting goods and donations for local organizations.
All four offices collected much-needed items to donate to their local Department of Veterans’ Affairs (VA) Medical Centers. More than 8 million service men and women are patients or residents at VA Medical Centers across the country. Through this outreach effort, the offices collected everyday items (like shaving cream, toothbrushes, and socks). The Richmond Office worked with Orcutt|Winslow and together the group was able to provide gifts for one-quarter of the residents in the Virginia Veterans Care Center. Lynchburg collected goods for the Salem Medical Center, while Atlanta donated to the Atlanta VA Medical Center and Alexandria gave to the DC VA Medical Center.
“The Department of Veterans Affairs and its Medical Centers serve a vital function to our country, and we are proud and honored to have this opportunity to support the organization and help them continue to meet the needs of our brave men and women,” said Fred Armstrong, Chairman and CEO.
Along with the donations to the Medical Centers, the individual offices organized their own charitable efforts, from donating to their local food banks to sponsoring families in need and providing them with gifts and food for the holidays. The Lynchburg office raised more than $2,000 for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, an amount that will enable them to provide enough food for more than 9,000 meals.
“Every year I am so proud of the efforts our employee-owners demonstrate in serving their neighborhoods and giving back to those in need,” Fred added. “In 2016 we look forward to continuing to support our communities and our fellow citizens.”
