Fred was named CEO in 2000 and Chairman of the Board in 2004. His diverse employment history provides a broad base of experience. Fred began his professional career with the Virginia Department of Transportation. As Principal Engineer for the City of Lynchburg, he oversaw all design work by the City and contracted consultant services and as Task Engineer for Babcock & Wilcox, he completed structural analysis of the nuclear-powered steam supply components. Fred currently serves as the leader of Wiley|Wilson’s Local Government Business Development Group. An active member of the local Lynchburg community, he participates in numerous organizations, including the Region 2000 Business and Economic Development Alliance, the Central Virginia Community College Educational Foundation, the Corporation for Jefferson’s Poplar Forest, and the James River Basin Association. Fred is also a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers and the Virginia Society of Professional Engineers.
