Jones & Cabacoy Veterans Care Center

Almost 700,000 veterans live in Virginia. Yet as of 2021, only two care facilities were available to serve the entire Commonwealth. Wiley|Wilson partnered with architecture firm Orcutt|Winslow to design two new care facilities that would help meet the current and growing demand. The first of those, the Jones & Cabacoy Veterans Care Center in Virginia Beach, VA, was recently completed and has begun accepting residents. Beyond just accommodating these deserving men and women, the new Jones and Cabacoy Veterans Care Center concentrates on meeting their unique needs, in an environment that is supportive, hospitable, and aesthetically welcoming. Designing such a space was no small task, but it’s one the team approached deliberately and thoughtfully, and the result is a new facility that will set a trend that future care centers can model.

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin attended the ribbon cutting for the facility and accurately summarized what this facility represents. “There are men and women from the beginning of this great country who have stood up and answered the call: answered the call to defend and protect our freedoms, answered the call to go to places far around this world, answered the call to stand up for those values that we hold dear. Today is a day where we offer one clear sentiment. Thank you,”
