Wiley|Wilson was selected by Cherokee County to provide master planning and architectural services, which will include planning for and designing two new fire stations in Holly Springs, GA, and Ball Ground, GA. Wiley|Wilson will also provide cost estimating, boundary and topographic survey, and design development services.

“We are pleased to work with Cherokee County and design two state-of-the-art facilities that meet the needs of the areas’ citizens,” said Neil E. McSweeney, PE, Senior Vice President. “Our strategy is to work closely with key stakeholders to ensure that these new stations meet the county’s budget and plan goals, without sacrificing any features or amenities that emergency personnel need.”

In February the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners approved a new 50-year land-lease agreement, which will allow the county to renovate or replace its current facilities. One of the county’s fire stations was originally a volunteer facility but is now considered outdated.

“Before making any design decisions, we will work to gain a more thorough understanding of the history, assess the county’s requirements, and balance that information with the area’s long-term plan so we can produce a solution that is as comprehensive as possible,” Neil added.
