More than 20 Wiley|Wilson employee-owners and family members participated in the Central Virginia United Way’s Rock-n-Bowl-a-thon on Saturday, January 24. The company’s four teams raised more than $1,000, which will benefit the educational programs of several local groups. In total, the annual event raised more than $40,000 and marks the end of the United Way’s 2014 fundraising campaign.

“The January bowl-a-thon is the grand finale in the United Way’s fundraising year and it’s a fun event that employee-owners look forward to participating in each year,” said Tim Groover, Wiley|Wilson President and COO. “The United Way, and the organizations it supports, help hundreds of individuals across Central Virginia and we are grateful for this opportunity to help give back to our community.”

The theme of this year’s event was rock-n-roll and bowlers enjoyed music-inspired prizes and a DJ. Teams were even encouraged to come dressed in their best rock star–attire. WSET covered the event and has more details here.
