Wiley|Wilson and its client The Trane Company are pleased to announce that through their combined efforts the Virginia Department of Forensic Science (DFS) has been commended for its commitment to energy and operational efficiency and sustainability and was named the 2015 recipient of Trane’s Energy Efficiency Leader Award. Through various programs and improvements suggested by Trane and Wiley|Wilson, the DFS has reported a combined annual savings of $1 million in operating costs at its four facilities throughout the state.

“This is a tremendous accomplishment for the Department of Forensic Science and one we are proud to have supported through our ongoing relationship with Trane,” explained David A. Nardi, PE, CEM, LEED AP BD+C, Wiley|Wilson Project Manager. “We look forward to continuing our work with Trane, evaluating other agencies’ operational efforts, and recommending solutions that lead to energy and cost savings.”

Wiley|Wilson has partnered with The Trane Company for several years, developing design options for the Department of Forensic Science that Trane then includes in their Performance Contract with the agency. The DFS has maintained its commitment to operating as efficiently as possible, and the agency’s efforts have been recognized by various groups. For instance, in 2013, the DFS was honored at the VCU Energy & Sustainability Conference in Richmond, VA.
