Randolph College Rainleader Disconnect

The project consists of the design of sustainable stormwater management facilities that dovetail with Randolph College’s Campus Masterplan. The sustainable design elements were bio-filters, impervious surface remediation, and rain-barrels. The design also included landscaping and hardscaping elements to create aesthetically pleasing environments for students, faculty, and alumni. These elements included brick sidewalk, retaining walls, a bridge, and multiple landscaped areas.

The design and construction involved coordination of a large group of stakeholders that included City of Lynchburg personnel as well as College administrators, faculty, students, alumni, and maintenance staff. The construction phase of the project had to be coordinated with college activities to minimize disturbance to the functionality of the campus.
