Waynesboro MS4 Program Development

The City of Waynesboro, Virginia was designated as a Phase II Municipal Separated Storm Sewer System (MS4) community in August 2013 based on the results of the 2010 National Census. To address this designation the Wiley|Wilson team assisted the City in developing their MS4 program plan to address the six minimum control measures and obtain the general permit. To accomplish this task a group of City stakeholders was established to solicit input, identify current activities for compliance, and approve new systems that will be integrated to their compliance plan.

The City’s┬áplan has been accepted by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality and Wiley|Wilson is now beginning the implementation of the MS4 program that includes public education, public involvement, illicit discharge detection, construction site runoff control, post-construction runoff control, and good housekeeping practices.
