Raw Water Pipeline

Optimization of raw water transmission and finished water transmission has been a core service to the City of Harrisonburg for over 40 years. Continuing that legacy today, Wiley|Wilson’s team is currently programming the replacement of a 100-year old raw water transmission main from the Rawley Springs area to the City.

Traversing a mountainous area, heavily trafficked U.S. highway and clusters of dense residential development, our team developed an optimized route for the pipeline. The optimized route provided resources to balance environmental needs, constructability concerns, and property owner impacts to develop a best fit solution for upgrading the existing 12-inch main to a 30-inch pipeline, increasing gravity fed transmission capacity and reducing long-term energy costs.
