Emmett Bus Shelter
Emmett Bus Shelter – Solar Energy Panels
University of Virginia
Charlottesville, Virginia
Wiley|Wilson engineers supported the University of Virginia with design of infrastructure for solar energy panels at the Emmett Street Parking Garage Bus Shelter. This photovoltaic project was in conjunction with the University’s “Ride Forward” program.  The project involved designing panels for an existing roof structure and then connecting to the campus electrical grid.

Additional “Ride Forward” activities were recently highlighted in Charlottesville’s local paper in an interesting article discussing a hands-on engineering course. Engineering students are converting used gasoline vehicles into electric automobiles.
