Thursday, June 17, 2010

The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Autonomous Systems Research Laboratory.  The two-story 48,000 SF facility; located in Washington, DC; will house laboratories and offices. Design, provided by Wiley|Wilson, included the demolition of four buildings to provide space for the new structure.

The building is precast concrete panels with a pile foundation and house offices, computer room, and high bay test and experiment labs. Labs will simulate real world environments to better test equipment under pseudo actual conditions.  The completed facility must meet the requirements for LEED-NC Silver.
