Wednesday, January 06, 2010

The Town of Altavista infrastructure and streetscape project has commenced despite extremely cold temperatures. Timothy R. Wagner, P.E., Wiley|Wilson Project Manager, reported to the Altavista Planning Commission that construction has officially started. Initial work includes excavation for new sewer line construction.

The first phase of this project involves 1,200 feet of new water lines; 1,450 feet of new sewer lines; and 1,600 feet of storm sewer pipes. Water and sewer lines in downtown are a little over 100 years old.
