Route 29 (Main Street) Over Dan River - Danville, Virginia
Renovation and partial replacement of a historic, 820' long, concrete
spandrel arch bridge. Construction of a parallel bridge of unique precast
concrete arch design. Improvement/ reconstruction of intersections at each end
of the bridges involved difficult construction staging. Aesthetic/historic
architectural design of the bridges that are contributing elements to four
surrounding historic districts.
