Nelson County Governmental Complex - Lovingston, Virginia
This project began as a Space Needs Study to evaluate the projected
growth of the courts, the School Administration and County
Administrative departments. Currently the courts, School Administration
and several County Administrative functions occupy the historic Nelson
County courthouse including the later wings that had been added through
the 1970's. Concept designs have been prepared to remove several of the
later addition wings and then to enlarge the building to serve strictly
judicial functions. The historic Circuit Court will remain as is except
for improvements in technology and security. With the Space Needs Study
completed and an approved courthouse concept we will then develop
alternatives for the School and County Administrative Offices to be
centrally located to better serve the citizens of Nelson County.
