Virginia Department of Forensic Science Energy Projects - Multiple Locations

Wiley|Wilson conducted a study to determine energy conservation measures for three laboratory facilities located in Richmond, Norfolk, and Roanoke, Virginia. Spaces studied included offices, labs, public health areas, firing range and chemical storage. Tasks performed by Wiley|Wilson included calculation of the building heating and cooling loads, determining the amount that building exhaust and ventilation air could be reduced, and evaluating necessary equipment changes to accommodate retrofit.

Subsequently, Wiley|Wilson designed the retrofit of more energy efficient fume hoods that require lower airflow amounts, a new chiller and fabricated rooftop structure at the Richmond facility and the installation of new boilers at the Richmond and Norfolk facilities.
