Wiley|Wilson recently completed a plant capacity expansion and nutrient removal upgrade project to increase capacity for Dale Service Corporation’s Section 1 and Section 8 WWTPs. Each facility was expanded from 4.0 MGD per plant to 4.6 MGD per plant. Wiley|Wilson worked with the Owner and Virginia DEQ to re-rate both wastewater treatment plants from 4.0 to 4.6 MGD while minimizing required new unit processes. In addition to the capacity increase, the project included nutrient removal treatment upgrades to enable each WWTP to meet an assigned wasteload allocation corresponding to 3 mg/l total nitrogen concentration.
