Naval Research Laboratory - Laboratory for Autonomous Systems Research - Washington, DC

Wiley|Wilson is providing full architectural and engineering design services for the US Navy’s new Laboratory for Autonomous Systems Research located on the campus of the Naval Research Laboratory. This is a 47,332 SF research laboratory facility that will be used to support information systems that enable real time awareness and battle space management capability. The facility provides electronic R&D laboratory spaces; power and energy research laboratories; high bay test facilities; and fail-safe, redundant power management and mechanical systems.

Other features of the design are team-based meeting areas, atrium, and workstations; a balance of open and closed research space to foster team research; laboratories with intensive electronic analysis and communications interconnectivity; and a facility that achieves environmental sustainability goal of LEED Silver certification.
