Federal Bureau of Prisons Women’s Correctional Facility (WCF) - Hazelton, West Virginia

Completed in 2006 at a cost of $68 million, the WCF at Hazelton now houses 400 maximum security female inmates and is located adjacent to the U.S. Penitentiary (USP). The existing USP central utility plant was expanded to handle the additional capacity of the WCF. Wiley|Wilson organized and led the commissioning of the expanded central plant and additional campus buildings forming the WCF.

Since Wiley|Wilson was selected during the pre-design phase, team members had input which positively affected the design of the facility. The design review process allowed time to address maintenance clearance issues in one of the buildings.

The WCF at Hazelton is the first Bureau of Prisons facility to include re-commissioning. Wiley|Wilson worked with the Bureau to customize a re-commissioning and O&M training program that Bureau staff could perform each year to insure the facility continues to operate at peak efficiency.
