This special systems commissioning project was of particular interest to the Wiley|Wilson commissioning team. Construction on the lab had been completed some months before Wiley|Wilson was called in to complete the project. Difficulties abounded in getting individual systems within the complex to work in harmony with the overall buildings control system. Wiley|Wilson engineers worked with the original design team, contractors and with the owner’s representatives to reprogram the sequencing of individual systems to eliminate the competition that existed between descending negative pressured areas. Other mechanical issues were also present, but the most complex elements related to maintaining the design intent while meeting ASHRAE standards without compromising the building automation system (BAS).
