AIT Dining Facility - Fort Lee, Virginia

With our design-build partner IronBridge Construction Company, Wiley|Wilson performed full architectural and engineering design services for the construction of a new $9.5 million dining facility and associated site work. The 32,000 SF facility has the capacity to feed 1,300 soldiers within a 90-minute time period, three times a day. The seated dining area contains 544 seats and can also serve as a gathering place for group activities.

The new dining facility includes the following spaces and rooms:
  • Dining Areas
  • Kitchen Area
  • Serving Area
  • Dishwashing Area
  • Receiving Vestibules
  • Staff and Public Restrooms
  • Offices
  • Storage Areas
  • Electrical and Mechanical Rooms
Site work included demolition, grading, paving, utilities, drainage, stormwater, erosion control and landscaping. Construction is being fast-tracked. The design meets USGBC requirements for LEED Silver certification and complies with UFC 4-010-01 for Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection.
