Wiley|Wilson is pleased to announce that Carol Moore, Office Administrator, has been named the 2015 Employee-Owner of the Year by the ESOP Association’s Mid-Atlantic Chapter, an honor that recognizes her outstanding ownership attitude and commitment to promoting the company’s ownership culture. An ESOP, or Employee Stock Ownership Plan, is an employee benefit that provides employees with an ownership interest in their company. The award was presented at the Mid-Atlantic Chapter’s 2015 ESOP Invitational in Pinehurst, NC. Carol will now enter the national competition for the ESOP Association’s Employee-Owner of the Year, which will be announced at the national conference in May.

“Congratulations to Carol for this well-deserved honor,” said Scott Francis, Senior Engineer, Structural Department and Chair of the company’s ESOP Communications Committee. “Carol embodies the spirit of ownership that we are trying to promote in our company and in the Mid-Atlantic Chapter. She takes an active role in the committee — suggesting new ways to reach people, volunteering to follow-up on activities, and demonstrating our core values daily.”

The Mid-Atlantic Chapter selects its Employee-Owner of the Year from nominations submitted by member companies. The winner is determined based on an individual’s commitment to the company’s ownership culture and the judges consider several factors during their decision-making process, including: committee membership and leadership; assistance during ESOP activities and events; attendance at chapter meetings; and participation in national conferences and retreats.

“Since she joined the firm, Carol has embraced being an employee-owner and her positive outlook and outgoing attitude is inspiring to everyone,” said Neil McSweeney Senior Vice President and Richmond Office Manager. “We are proud that she has been recognized by the ESOP Association’s Mid-Atlantic Chapter and will be cheering her on as she competes for the national award in May.”

This is the fourth award the company has received from the Mid-Atlantic Chapter. In 2011 Connie Burnette, Vice President, Department Manager, Human Resources, was named Employee-Owner of the Year and in both 2012 and 2014 the company was named ESOP Company of the Year.
